Beastly by Alex Flinn

Beastly

You hear someone wants to make the classic disney film into a novel, a novel that is similar to the basic Disney story but yet at the same time iws unique and different. As a true disney fan you may be shocked and repulsed by this idea, how dare they try to take disney's idea. But surely Disney had to get there idea from someone else and that someone else had to get it from somewhere and so on. Of course then your curiosity is going to grow, especially when they make it into a movie. Perhaps it really is different to the disney version after all?

It is very VERY similar to the disney version of beauty and the beast, but instead of that fairylike feel that the disney version has to it, this has that sort of raelity feel to it, where you are meant to learn messages about the modern world and the modern society. When I went to school, popularity worked in a sort of system, skinny and beautiful girls at the top of the hierarchy, ugly, fat or just plain different at the bottom. I was of course at the bottom of the system, but I didn't care  that much because I had good friends, good real honest friends. This book seems to show that life does run around on the basis of looks, but shows a message that looks should not be the be all and end all, that we should not judge a person by their pretty face for their soul may be rotten within.

I felt that the book was very well written in that it engaged the reader, especially if you are the sort of person who has self confidence and esteem issues. From this book you learned that a person who loves you, and that true love, is about getting to know the person inside and outside, that the appearance should be of very little importance. The book was beautiful and it had me hooked from page one because there was this huge sense of reality to it. Im sure we all know that top notch must have guy and the hottest girl in school, the one that always got everything their own way and won the prom queen and king crown. But what would really happen if there were real witches out there in life? After all I know a girl who bullied me all through primary school who is now at the lower school with so many social problems that make her somewhat of a social outcast, whilst although I still have my problems, I still carry on, learn adn reach for my dreams.

The wording and way of this book was just beautifull well written adn expressed and it touched me in many ways to think about the purpose of society and love. The author just really seemed to want to engage with the reader, to make them learn whether they be the hottest girl in school or the fat weird kid with the zits. This book just seems to hold many many different messages and I think that the author purposely wanted to engage his reader into the words so that anyone who came across it would learn something new. I know that I would happily read this book over and over again merely for the beauty of its story though it is somewhat cliche and predictable.

didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing
