About me

 Hi there,

Welcome to my little reading corner where you can find out a little bit more information about who I am.

I am Charlotte, a 21 year old girl from the United Kingdom who loves to read and I am the one on the left in the picture to your right. I still live with my family which includes my mum, my step dad, and my two younger brothers and younger sister. I am currently unemployed but am working hard to find a job, because as lovely as benefits are, there not very supportive when it comes to functioning my life.

Since march 2008 I have suffered from Anorexia, and later on Bulimia came to join in on the party. After being admitted into hospital twice for low potassium, I was admitted into an inpatient treatment centre at the beginning of September 2011. I was an inpatient for four weeks and then moved to day patient until I was finally discharged to outpatient November 22nd. I am now making positive steps towards my recovery whilst realizing that its always going to be difficult.

I have not always been a big reader. In fact when I was a teenager you would have been lucky to have gotten me to finish one book a year! Since starting university and failing to finish university because of the eating disorder I have become a much more avid reader and am constantly on the look out for new books to read. In fact my reserve list at the library is never empty and I always have the full capacity of books withdrawn. My favorite genre of books is the YA fiction and this partly due to the fact that it allows me to escape to a whole new world where I don't have to worry about the stresses in reality.

I basically started reading again because a professional advised me to do so to increase my concentration levels.. And it kind of stuck with me. I love to read. I love to escape in a different world and be completely swept away by the story, the characters and the plot. I didn't even realize there was an entire world of YA fiction out there until I surfed the interwebz one day because I wanted a new book to read! And I'm SO glad that I discovered the YA book blogosphere. *Squeezes you all in a massive group hug*
One of my dreams when I was a child was becoming a writer. I still hope that, one day, I will be able to actually finish a story and have a book published.

If there's anything else you may want to know, don't hesitate to ask me! I won't bite, I promise ;) If you are an author or publisher and you are interested in having your book reviewed on the blog, please check out my review policy
