Invisible (The Amanda Project, #1)
Mysterious, charismatic, and one of a kind—the only way to find Amanda is to think like Amanda. When enigmatic freshman Amanda Valentino arrived at Endeavor High, she chose three people— Callie, Hal, and Nia—to guide her through the choppy waters of her new school. Except she didn't tell them about each other. When Amanda leaves, the three must reluctantly work together to figure out why. But once they start piecing together the cryptic clues that Amanda herself is leaving for them, they realize that everything they thought they knew about her is false. The more they dig, the mystery of where—and who—Amanda is deepens.

My Review
The book kind of reminded me of a cheap imitation of the pretty little liars series, where there are a group of people all connected together by one person. The only difference with this series is that the group are not close friends and the girl is not dead, she is missing. I think right from the beginning I could tell that this was going to annoy me because it didn't really seem to scream hey Im unique, come read me instead. Instead it seemed to say, hey Ive run out of ideas, erm here's something similar to that. It was basically creating a cliche within itself. I found the book highly annoying in many places with regards to the fact that you never actually know what is happening and you therefore never actually feel like you are getting anywhere with the novel so you just end up skipping through the pages.  It was frustrating to say the least!!! I wasn't really sure as to why Callie was the main character in this book, other than for the main fact that she had a rubbish home life where her father is a drunk and is basically running them into the ground with debt.

As for the title, well why call it the amanda project. my mind instantly went to the old show that use to be on nickolodeon, the amanda show, which just made me wonder, has this author got any creativity in them or did they want a big seller? Of course the title stuck in my mind, but that was only because I was associating the novel with something that it was actually not connected nor related to in any format. I am struggling to find any positives here!! I didn't feel like there was actually any plot or meaning to this write as there was nothing that kept my attention. I just kept reading with the hopes that it would pick up, But I know I won't be wasting my time on any future novels that may or may not progress in the series and it is therefore possibly why I had not heard of it till I saw it in the library.

I do think its a shame though as it is evident that the author has writing talent and has a certain era of style that could make them stand out. Of course that then leaves you wondering, why come up with something so closely related to another? Why not form something so completely different, unique and wow. I suppose we will never know. I really do hope though that the author does write something new and that it is something that I can really get my bite into because I really hate to be a downer on books, especially when others are going to like it. But thats why we all have the freedom of speech and as such, the freedom of opinion and different taste.
