When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy finds out her mother might've been telling the truth.

With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - and it's one she's not sure if she wants to be a part of.

 My Review
Im really not sure what to make of this book. There just seemed to be a lot of well, lameness to it, in that it was too predictable, cliche and oh so done before. for me the story just seemed to move tooo fast way to quickly and that meant I was getting bored fairly quickly when it came to reading through it. Yes the aspect and the context of the book was great. But perhaps this was a case of pretty cover, but lame depth to it. There just wasnt any omph to the novel itself. the relationships were predictable, as were the characters. you knew and worked out who was who fairly quick on and so your mind wasn't really left for much room to imaginate and build on. So I can't really say I enjoyed the novel. I did find it a huge shame as well because I absolutely adored the cover, and usually an amazing cover suggests an amazing book, but for me it was just a let down. Its not like say Lament and Ballad, or any of the other fairy books that are based on changlings. it was just so obviosu, cliche and lacking in so much that I am sure, it was more like the kind of book that I wanted to finish just so I could say yeah I finished it.

My reaction to the novel, well its pretty much an Eh. Its not something that I would pick up and read again for example. I am however curious to read the rest of the series merely because I want to see if it gets any better and what happens next. But at the moment my expectations of the series are not really rating very high. It just wasn't as good as it could have been. it felt more like a rough draft for an amazing story rather than the amazing story it wanted to be. it was just a let down.... I know many people will argue with my point, but I have read books that are far more thought provoking this one. none of the characters grasped my attention and that just made me wonder what the point of it actually was.
